Spring & Summer
Barrie’s Waterfront offers a variety of activities from relaxing by the water to enjoying the hiking and walking trails along Kempenfelt Bay or the Ardagh Bluffs. Check out the many options for golf or mini-putt, or charter a boat and go catch some fish! If you’re joining us in March, check out the Traditional Pow Wow at Georgian College to learn more about indigenous culture and tradition.
For more about these options or other things to do while you’re learning in Barrie, check out Tourism Barrie’s website.
Fall & Winter
There’s lots to do in Barrie in the fall/winter – take a walk along Barrie’s waterfront or go Treetop Trekking at Horseshow Valley and admire the turning of the leaves. If you’re a winter person, the ski hills are just a stones’ throw away or go snow-shoeing in the scenic caves of Collingwood. Or if indoors is more your thing, how about a brewery tour, museum or art gallery? If you’re joining us in September, spend the weekend in Barrie and catch the city’s “Culture Days” – this multi-venue festival is part of Canada-wide celebration that catalyzes and inspires public participation in arts and culture. Try your hand at conducting an orchestra, check out street performers, historic walking tours and performances on city buses and more. You can also catch a show at Theatre By the Bay.
